Aragonite is one of the crystalline forms of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), along with calcite and vaterite. It can be found in the form of stalactites, and also in the shells of almost all mollusks and in the skeletons of corals. Among the varieties of aragonite, the so-called flos-ferri (iron flower) stands out, resembling a beautiful coral.
