Bauxite is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of hydrated aluminum oxides and is the main ore for aluminum production. It forms through the weathering of aluminum-rich rocks in tropical and subtropical climates and is used not only for aluminum extraction but also as an abrasive material, in the manufacture of refractory products, sandpaper, and in road construction.
