Franklinite, occasionally also known as zincoferrite, is a mineral of the spinel group. It is an oxide of zinc, iron, and manganese with the formula (Fe,Mn,Zn)2+(Fe,Mn)3+2O4. Described by Pierre Berthier in 1819, the mineral is named after the town of Franklin, New Jersey, USA.
