Mesolite is a mineral belonging to the tectosilicate class and the zeolite group. It is generally colorless or white and has an acicular (needle-like) crystal appearance. It is often found in cavities within volcanic basalt rocks, and its name comes from the Greek word "mesos" ("middle"), due to its chemical composition being intermediate between natrolite and scolecite.
