Product Description

Fluorite is a mineral of group III (halides) that, according to the Strunz classification, is formed by the elements calcium and fluorine.

Its structure belongs to the cubic system, and is presented with cubic, octahedral and rhombic dodecahedral habits.

Fluorite exhibits physical properties of thermoluminescence and fluorescence.

In industry, it is mainly used in iron and steel metallurgy. It is used as a source of fluorine and hydrofluoric acid, and also in ceramic glazing and the manufacture of optical glass.

The beauty of the specimens makes it a mineral highly prized by museums and private collectors.
