The growing desire to return to nature has led many European countries to become interested in the mineral alum again and to rediscover its benefits for the skin, although in Spain it is largely unknown. For centuries, the mineral alum has been used as a deodorant to control body odour and also to prevent skin irritation after shaving or waxing, among many other applications. In Holland it is appreciated above all as an aftershave. In France, however, its properties as a deodorant are appreciated just as much or even more.
