Pyrite is a mineral that contains 53.5% sulfur, and 46.5% iron. In most cases, Pyrite is solid, fine granular or globular. Insoluble in water. Its name derives from fire, since when it rubs against other metals it emits sparks. It is also known as "fool's gold" or "poor man's gold" for its great resemblance.
